Happy Birthday to the USA, our friend Sandee, and all the other 4th of July babies.
This has been a strange summer for me–I’m twisted so nothing new there! A good thing about it is I’ve been lucky enough travel through this wonderful beautiful country. I have friends and family living on both coasts and a bunch scattered through the mid-section.
And what have I discovered? That we have a great country filled with warm giving people. If found this out by trying to be one myself. There is so much negative going on that it can be overwhelming. So….
Take a moment to give a smile to a weary waitress, or leave an extra dollar over. Tell that cashier something good–s/he did a good job checking you out, or what a wonderful smile you have. Look at someone–eye contact–and ask how they are doing? Stop and listen to that older person who might be telling a story. You don’t know if you’re the only adult who they come in contact with.
Thank a soldier OR their mother OR a veteran. I did this at the WPB airport and one young man was rude, his brother–a Coastie smiled shyly, their sister said thank you. I’ll continue to say “thank you” to those who have served because if we didn’t have brave people, there would be no 4th of July!
Happy Birthday, America!

Happy 4th to you, as well. What a great picture!
