I’m not sure what special meal I will cook tonight–we really prefer special dinners instead of going out–$25 spent in the grocery store is equal to a hundred at any restaurant. Don is extremely hard to buy a gift for. Like a lot of men, if he wants it, he buys it himself. He doesn’t throw out those HINTS like I do.
And I have a fear of not picking out ‘the right’ gift. I know it is silly. It stems from my childhood and those horrid birthday parties. And being picked last, or worse, being picked on. Anywho, I digress.
Happy Birthday, Donald. You are a special gift to me. Even more since you’ve retired.
I love you!

Happy Birthday, Don! Maybe he’ll learn to do what my hubs has been doing . . . taking a picture of what he wants and sending it to me with a note, “At Lowes.” It helped so much when I shopped because if I couldn’t find it, all I had to do was show the sales people the picture and they took me right to the item!
Margaret–
That is an awesome idea! Sometimes he just opens a catalogue then circles what he wants.
Happy Birthday, Don! Enjoy your special day with a very special lady!
Bonnie–
Thank you! We had a wonderful day together, filled with laughter!
I’ll bet he thinks he got all his coolest birthday gifts at once on the day he married you.
Aw,, Jackie–
What a wonderful thing to say. I know he agrees.
And, I try to thank his mother for the wonderful gift she gave me.
