The day of love where commercialism has put more pressure on the men than the women. Really, I’m being serious. There are three days that guys should never forget–Don’s sage advice to our sons! Her birthday, your anniversary, and number one that guys can’t miss is Valentine’s Day!
And Don didn’t. Early this morning, flowers appeared on the dining room table. I’ve requested that we cook shrimp, fresh asparagus, and chocolately dessert I plan to make.
What about those who are part of a couple? Treat yourself to something special! Because you are. Took me many years to realize that if you can’t be kind to yourself, it is hard to do for another person.

We’re celebrating tomorrow as a family. The kidlet is even giving up part of a sleepover birthday party to eat with her boring old mom and dad . . . maybe it has something to do with the fact that we are eating at Fleming’s Steakhouse. After a wonderful filet mignon, the kidlet will spend the night at her friend’s house and hubs and I will drink bubbly while sitting in the bubbly hot tub. #lifeisgood.
OH, YUM, Margaret!
Bubbly in the hot tub sounds good! I’ve never been to Fleming’s but I’ve heard it is outstanding. Maybe one day.
Don bought filets to go with our shrimp, so surf and turf. The only thing better would be if we were next to the ocean in some place very very warm.
Great wisdom. Love the doggy decked out. Reminds me of the roses the Kentucky Derby winner gets around his neck. You have a champion, too. Look at that face!
Thanks, Deb!
So glad you’re back!
Boomer is a winner in his own way.
We don’t do Valentine’s Day here. I’m lucky (and I know you are, too!) in that he does the important stuff all year round.
Marilyn–
You are so right! I just thought Don being retired was going to be nice but it has been magnificient. He’s a romantic man, and he shows his love every day.
I have been so blessed.
