I was so disappointed with the end of DEXTER. I loved this show because Dexter killed those who needed it. And they ended like they did? Not very heroic at all. No spoiler here.
UNDER THE DOME was a huge disappointment from the second show on. I’m a Stephen King fan! I read the book and loved it. His endings are often simple explanations that can be so plausible it is scary. He’s influenced my writing almost as much as Marilyn! So why did the screen writers screw it up so badly?
I’ve finished many books that I thought ended poorly or weakly and never read that author again. The worst, IMNSHO, was THE HORSE WHISPERER. It was an #1 Best Seller and the hero commits suicide by horse! Evans thought this was clever? Or gasp, romantic? Seriously? I threw the book across the room into the wall. Worse than THE BRIDGES OF MADISON COUNTY.
Don’t get me wrong, I don’t have to have an HEA–happily ever after. Life seldom turns out that way. I read fiction to escape or to live vicariously. Don’t screw up the ending.
